FAQs

What’s the difference between handmade and digital art?

Handmade art is 100% handcrafted using traditional tools and techniques and shipped to your doorstep, while digital art is drawn digitally and sent via email or a file transfer service.

Both art forms are made by our traditional Japanese artists. There is no use of AI involved in our creations.

Can I request a specific style or color palette?

Yes! We encourage you to select the style that you like best. During the customisation process you will have options to select color and background options. You can also request specific customisations in the 'Notes to the Artist' text box.

Our talented artists will work to bring your vision to life while maintaining their unique artistic touch.

What customization options are available?

You can choose between handmade or digital art, paper types, sizes, framing options, and background preferences. You can also personalize with the number of characters and add specific requests for the artist.

What types of paper, sizes and frames do you offer?

We offer standard drawing paper and authentic Japanese Shikishi paper in sizes A4 and A3.

We also offer a range of framing options, including traditional Japanese Shikishi frames and paper frames. You can choose your preferred option during customization.

You can learn more by opening the tabs 'Paper Types' and 'Frame Types' above.

How is the artwork shipped, how long does it take to receive my artwork?

Digital art is typically delivered within 2-4 weeks via email or transfer services like Google Drive or WeTransfer.

Handmade art, including shipping, takes 3-5 weeks. We use reliable international postal services to ship all hand-painted art. Once your artwork is shipped, you will receive a tracking number via email so you can monitor its journey.

What should I do if my artwork gets damaged in transit?

If your hand-painted artwork arrives damaged, please contact us immediately at info@takumistudios.com with photos of the damage.

We recommend purchasing shipping insurance during checkout to protect your order.

Can I request changes after the artwork is complete?

We collaborate with skilled traditional Japanese artists who pour immense pride and dedication into their work. Their artistic philosophy emphasizes the integrity of the piece, which means revisions are typically not offered once the artwork is complete. However, we encourage you to communicate your preferences clearly before the artist begins, as they are dedicated to ensuring your vision is captured in the initial stages.

How do I contact the artist for specific requests?

All communication is managed through Takumi Studios to ensure smooth collaboration. Simply leave your requests in the 'Notes to the Artist' before adding to cart.

How can I leave feedback for the artist?

You can leave feedback after your artwork is delivered. We will send a follow-up email where you can share your thoughts and rate your experience. This helps us support and improve our artists' work.

Can I donate to an artist to support their activity?

Yes, you can! Artists receive 100% of any tips or donations provided during checkout. It's a great way to support their craft directly.

Can I use an art for my social media account?
